For anyone looking to see me at Boskone, I'm having to cancel my appearance at the Boskone science fiction convention this weekend. My back injuries from my accident, plus a badly bruised right arm I got on a fall on my (indoor) stairs last weekend, plus the White Tiger #6 script that's due Monday that I haven't touched, all dictate that I stay inside my 2+ feet of snow-enshrouded home.
Tim's going, to convey my groveling to all of my friends who have seen me at Boskone over the last 8 years. Yep. This is the first time I've missed Boskone since I started going. But my arm hurts too much to sign things, and it's going to be a treat just typing revisions to WT#6.
So my apologies if anyone reading this thought to see me there. It's been one a those years, and it ain't even two months old.

I am not going to make it either. The sidewalks are icy, and I am gigantically pregnant and hugely exhausted. I was feeling kind of bad about missing the opportunity to see you when you'd have been so close.
I hope the weekend goes productively, and your various injuries heal soon!
I hope you're on your way towards mending.
::sigh::
Have you no sense of propriety?!
But, seriously now --
Rest up and feel better.
(Um ... and chocolate and a nice bottle of wine and dancing boys, too.)
We're living in Syracuse now, so NYC get-togethers are hard in any case!
Dorie
::hugs:: and see you soon,
Tammy
P.S. I saw a very handsome, midnight black guinea pig on Pet of the Day!
Can't you talk to her and tell her you need a break?
Thank you for taking care of yourself in this regard. We all prefer that over your coming when you shouldn't.
It's not even close. (And that would be true even if there were no editing or writing happening at all.)
Be gentle with yourself. *hugs*
You've probably seen pictures of the Helix nebula out the wazoo, but I saw a beautiful one on MCNBC.com. What a gorgeous, gorgeous thing! It reminded me why astronomy was such a happy subject for me, even if I didn't do well at it!
Stay inside with the kitties and hot tea (or hot chocolate) and work and hopefully things will heal.
And it may be one of those years already at 2 months, but that means there are 10 months for it to get better.
And I just want to add that I think you and your husband are both awesome. It's so rare that comic fans have the pleasure of writers from outside comics come in and actually give up quality work *gasp* on time. You treat your work our medium with just as important as your other work and I really, truly appreciate that. It's refreshing and I wish more outside creators would follow your lead.
Sorry you're not feeling too great and I'm sorry you're not going to be able to go. I know it must suck for you. There is always next year (which I may be there for).
Hope you feel better soon.
I hadn't expected to see you there, but I had sent greetings to be passed on through those who were.
I hope the revisions go well.
I hope the revisions go well, too. I suppose I should start them!
I hear you on the "one of those years" front... *sigh*
Good luck with the revisions, and I hope you feel better!!
